OBIT: DEASON, Hetty Bourne - Lincoln County, Kentucky Submitted by: Betty Neu http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00002.html#0000325 Date: 31 May 2002 Interior Journal, October 19, 1950 Sister of Stanford Woman Passes On Funeral services for Mrs. Hetty Bourne Deason, 44, former teacher and government employee, who died Oct 12, 1950, in Georgetown Hospital, Washington, D C, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Columba's Episcopal Church. The wife of Dr. Hillary J. Deason, Chief of the Office of Foreign Activities in the Fish and Wildlife Service, Mrs. Deason was born in Parksville, Ky. She was a graduate of Berea College in Ky and did post-graduate work at Columbia University in New York. She then taught in high schools in Tennessee and was later secretary to the president of the College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark before moving to Washington eight years ago. She worked with the FBI and later in the geological survey. She was a member of the Twentieth Century Club, the American Association of University Women and the Berea Club of Washington. Besides her husband, she is survived by one brother, Harold Bourne, Detroit; and five sisters, Mrs. Fred Watkins, Stanford; Miss Lelia Bourne and Mrs. E. E.
