WAYNESBURG -- Services for Gomer Dowell, 76, of Brad Petrey Road will 
be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church by Ken Jewell and 
Vernon Dowell. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

He died Sunday at Fort Logan Hospital. 

Born Nov. 13, 1925, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late 
Eugene and Lola Oaks Dowell. He was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist 
Church and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Survivors include his former wife, Christeen Jones Dowell of Stanford; 
a daughter, Lena Kidwell of Stanford; two grandchildren; and a great-
granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry L. Dowell; and 
a daughter, Brenda J. Dowell. 

Pallbearers will be Odis, Walter, Gary, Donald, Freeman, Russell and 
Lonnie Dowell. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Denny, Jerry Saylor, 
Darrell Dowell, and Junior, Donald and Randey Caudill.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home 
and noon Thursday until time of service at the church.
