From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 13 Apr 2003 STANFORD -- Leo Gooch, 77, of Stanford, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 3, 1925, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Walter and Letha Johnson Gooch. He was a retired farmer and member of Redemption Road Pentecostal Church. Survivors include two sons, Leroy and Marvin R. Gooch, both of Stanford; a brother, Louie Gooch of Kings Mountain; a sister, Zella Yocum of Waynesburg and three grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Spurlin Funeral Home by Gary Yocum. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Griffin, Zeeke Smith, Ronald Maples, Mark Todd, Chuck Barnes and Chuck May. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Redemption Road Church. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
