Walter Humphrey, 79, of Bluffton, Ind., died Friday at Bluffton 
Regional Medical Center.

Born Aug. 12, 1922, in Stanford, he was a son of Cass and Susie Starns 
Humphrey. He was retired.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Begley Humphrey; three daughters, 
Mary Lou Conrad of Sims, Ind., Jane Shepherd of Quincy, Mich., and 
Barb Lafavers of Poneto, Ind.; five sons, Wayne, Charlie, Kenny, Jerry 
and Mark Humphrey, all of Bluffton; a stepson, Hargis Sizemore of 
Ossian, Ind.; a brother, Carlos Humphrey of Stanford; 26 grandchildren; 
and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Carlos 
Humphrey, and two daughters, Susie Shepherd and Lena Humphrey.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt and Chaney 
Funeral Home, Bluffton, by Douglas McClure.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Association.
