WAYNESBURG -- James Freeman Stamper, 64, died Monday at Johnson 
Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Ind.

Born Nov. 21, 1938, in Waynesburg, he was the son of Madge L. Bitner 
Stamper and the late Eugene G Stamper. He was a self-employed tool 
and dye maker for 40 years and former apprentice for Western Electric.

Survivors include his mother, Madge L. Bitner Stamper of Indianapolis, 
Ind.; a son, James E. Stamper of Dumfries, Va.; a daughter, Julia A. 
Stamper of Hertford, N.C.; a brother, Richard E. Stamper of Terre 
Haute, Ind.; a sister, Donna Kay Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; and 
five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Double Springs Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are being handled by Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home.
