Watkins, 84, of Stanford died Oct. 20 at the Lincoln Manor Rest Home after a long illness. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Stanford Christian Church, which he served as a deacon and elder, member of Lincoln Lodge No. 60, past Chairman of Lincoln County Republicans and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by three nephews, Robert Moore, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; the Rev Gayle Threlkeld, Shelbyville; Kenneth Nelson, Los Angeles, California; two nieces, Mrs. Margaret Pentz, Charleston, West Va; and Mrs. Jane Richmond, Richmond, Ky. Services were held at the Beazley, Raney and Speaks Funeral Home on Oct 21 at 4 p.m. by the Rev Richard Harris and the Rev Elmore Ray. Pallbearers were Marvin Cornett, Robert Baughman, Harold DeMarcus, Killis Dawson, Leonard Boone and Elmer Young. Burial was at the Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
