We do not know the name of the paper it came from. RETIRED IC ENGINEER DIES AT 79 E. W. Lewis, 79-year-old native of Grand Rivers, who served 50 years as an engineer for the Illinois Central Railroad, died Thursday at his home in Memphis. The retired railroader had been in ill health for five years. Mr. Lewis was a deacon in LaBelle Baptist Church of Memphis and a member of the Paducah Masonic Lodge 127. Mr. Lewis moved to Memphis in 1926. Survivors include a son, Carl Lewis of Owensboro; three daughters, Mrs. Nell Evans of Memphis; Mrs. Ruth Nichols of Hernando, Miss., and Mrs. Jane Williams of Memphis; two brothers, Maurice Lewis of Paducah and Henry Lewis of Memphis; a sister, Mrs. Jim Freeman of Paducah; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. ************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities as long as this message remains on all copied material.
