The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** From Livingston County Wills Book A. 1799-1832 Film #0318175 Eli Marvels Will In the name of God amen I Eli Marvel of the County of Licingston and State of Kentucky being weak in body But of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and the _________ appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the manner and form following that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to buried in a Christian burial at the discretion of my executor nothing doubtin but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the hand of God. And as tucking(?) such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God bless me with in this life I give dismiss and dispose of the same in the following manner and form (to wit) first I give and bequeath to Leah my dearly beloved wife all my lands goods and chattel of every _______ and money and during her natural life except such property as I shall her will to two of my grandchildren to her only use and benefit while she lives and after her death all to be sold and equally divided among my several children. Also I desire my wife to pay all my just debts out of my property or money also I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved grandson, Eli Marvel one osreel mare(?) colt which he has now in possession also I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved granddaughter Arpy Marvel one bed and furniture and one cow and calf and I do hereby make and ordain Joseph Hughes my sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other will for___ testament will legacies bequests and executor by me in any wise before named called (?) and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament In______ whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affict my seal this the 23rd day of October 1830 registered (?) sealed and delivered in presence of Joseph Hughes and Matthew Hughes.
