Wells Vick W. W. Gardner was born near Glasgow Junction in Barren Co. Ky. on October the 1st 1818. At the age of 18 he began the study of medicine. In 1838 he professed religion and joined a Baptist Church and the next year he was licensed to preach; he entered Georgetown College where he graduated in 1843. From 1857 to 1869 he was pastor of the Russellville Church. During this period and for several years afterwards, he was Professor of Theology at Bethel College. His great life work for his denomination was performed at Bethel College. He is the author of several religious books. This has been taken from Spencer's History of Kentucky Baptists.
