Wells Vick Mr. A. C. Hodgen, one of the four to whom this history is dedicated was baptized in the fellowship of this church [Russellville First Baptist Church] after he and his wife removed here. She came by letter. Mr. Hodgen immediately began to be active in this church. He was for many years deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Hodgen was likewise active in the church and the Woman's Missionary Society; she helped organize the Aftermath Club, a literary society. Both were very liberal givers in their gifts to this church. Mr. Hodgen was a dry goods merchant.
