Wells Vick Rev. Seldon Trimble and wife Mary (Morehead) Trimble were both natives of Logan Co. Ky. Mrs. Trimble was educated in the schools at Kaysburg in South Logan Co. Ky. She was a most excellent Christian woman, joining heartily in her husband's work as preacher and missionary. Rev. Trimble was educated at Murfreesboro College in Tennessee from which place he graduated with the degree of A. M. He studied in the theological department of this same college, and after his graduation and his ordination began to preach in the Baptist Churches in Logan Co. ky. In 1856, after marrying, he and his wife went to Nigeria, under the auspices of the Baptist Missionary Society. There were three men, but Mrs. Trimble was the only lady in the party. They spent two years in missionary work there, Mrs. Trimble was thrown from a horse, receiving injuries which disabled her for life, and compelled her to return to Kentucky. Mr. Trimble preached in the counties of Logan, Caldwell, Trigg and Lyon and devoted his remaining years in securing aid for the support of Baptist missionaries in foreign fields. Mr. Thornton Trimble is a grandson.
