The abstracts and transcriptions were made from LDS Microfilm while researching several families in Logan Co, KY. They consist primarily of families that were of interest to me and are certainly not all the entries. Although I may have additional information about some of the families, I have nothing more from the court entries than you will find here - no need to ask. These are the court orders and do not contain the documents referred to in the orders. Some of the abstracts are little more than the name - I just wanted to make note that person was present at that time. In the case of land entries - these lists usually included several persons, I only noted selected ones. There are often multiple court actions for the same date. In the early years, Logan was a very large county and many people noted here will later live in the counties formed from Logan. It is likely I made errors, either in typing or interpreting poor filming or handwriting, so if you find your family, you may want to view the film for yourself. Personal comments are in brackets. Abstracts from Logan County, Kentucky, Court Orders, Book 2, 1801-1802 [Index at front of this book. Again, there seems to be some overlap with Books A1 and 1. What is curious about the overlap is that the entries are not identical - they don't seem to be copied over from one book to another.] LDS Microfilm #0364561 18 May 1801 1st Entry Present are West MAULDING, Thomas DAVIDSON, John NEELY, Peyton NOWLIN, Robert EWING, George McLEAN, Elijah BAILEY, & William MARRS, Gentlemen May County Court 1801 p.7 William BREATHIT be allowed 200 acres of land agreeably to his entry filed as follows to wit: William BREATHITT enters 200 acres of Land on the waters of the big Whipporwill Beginning at a Stake in the Barrows on Garret FLIPPOs South boundary Running so as to include the Same on the South and West of Sd Survey. p.8 Ordered that John EWING Junr be allowed 200 acres 18 May 1801 p.17 Ordered that George BLAKEY be allowed 200 acres ...entry filed ...Whipporwill ...to include improvements.
