The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net. ***************************************************************************** Grant South of Green River William Lee Logan County, KY Book 13 Page 384 FHC #0272834 Isaac Shelby Esqr Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky to all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that by Virtue and in Consideration of a Certificate Number 3024 (The State price paid without Interest) granted by the Commissioners in 1798 agreably to an act of assembly for encouraging and Granting relief to Settlers there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto William Lee assee of Reuben Hammitt assee of William Elms who was assee of Thomas Elms a certain tract or parcel of land Containing Two hundred acres by Survey bearing date the fourth day of March 1799 lying and being in the County of Logan on the waters of Bigg Muddy and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning on a black oak and White Oak on an old Military line and running thence south forty five West One hundred and eighty eight poles to a hickory and dogwood in another military line thence with the same North Sixty Seven West two hundred and ten poles to 2 Elms on said line thence North forty five East 222 poles to a black Oak and hickory on a Military line thence due South eighty poles to said Military Corner a black Oak and White Oak thence with another line South eighty East 174 poles to the Beginning With its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land With its appurtenances to the Said William Lee and his heirs forever in Witness Whereof the said Isaac Shelby Esqr Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand and Caused the Seal of Said Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on sixteenth day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Thirteen and of the Commonwealth the twenty second.
