Will of John Bowles  
Feb 2, 1824.  County of Logan.  Wife Elizabeth all earthly estate for the 
support of my children.  All estate to be kept together until youngest child 
reaches lawful age or marries.  After wife dies to be equally divided.  But if 
any child marries before youngest, wife can judge how to help them as she 
thinks proper.  If wife remarries before youngest child becomes of age, she is 
to have 1/3 during her life but then to be divided between my children.
House, plantation, all laying on East side of the creek where I now live to a 
home for my wife.

[Note: Although there are many men named John Bowles, and more than one had a 
wife named Elizabeth, I believe this one to be the John Bowles, b. 13 Feb 
1776, Goochland Co, VA, to John Bowles & Elizabeth Curd.  He married 4 Jun 
1798 to Elizabeth Perkins, daughter of Stephen Perkins Jr. and Sarah Bowles.]

[Note:  if this was my family, I'd definitely want to see the original of this 
land division - there should be some explanation of why there is such a
