All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Watson beverly_wat@msn.com March 13, 2010, 11:31 pm Source: Logan County Ky, Will Book A, Pg 32-33 Written: July 26, 1807 Recorded: August 10, 1807 Logan County, Kentucky Will Book A, pg 32-33 26 July 1807 In the name of God Amen, Whereas I, Joel Wilkerson of the county of Prince George in the state of Virginia being sick and weak of body but of sound mind and memory thanks be to almighty God for his mercies and calling to mind the mortality of my body as it is appointed for man once to die and after that to Judgment, do make ordain constitute and appoint this to be my last will and testament of all my temporal estate which it has pleased god to bless me with and first of all I recommend my soul to god who gave it being first, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent form of Christian Burial at the Discretion and Directions of my executors that shall be hereafter mentioned. Item first, I give and bequeath unto my Dear Brother, Wiatt Wilkerson of the County of Prince George in the said state of Virginia my riding horse, saddle and bridle that I have now with me and also all my other estate both real and personal that I am possessed of viz, all my bonds notes open accounts or any other claim or Demand that I am lawfully entitled to either from my own acquiring or from any legacies unto me by my Father Frederick Wilkerson left by Will or otherwise together with a negro man named Moses that is now with me in the County of Logan State of Kentucky and also it is my will and desire that all my Just and Lawfull Debts shall be Honestly paid together with all lawfull and necessary expenses for Burial or otherwise shall be paid by my executors out of any part of my Estate with what ready cash is now in my possession which I suppose may be above thirty Dollars and now here I nominate Appoint and ordain my Dear brother Wiett Wilkerson and John Cross to be my lawfull executors to this my last will and testament and doth hereby provenence and declare in the Presence of the now written witnesses this to be my Last will and testament Whereunto I have set my seal and signed with my own hand my name this 26th day of July 1807.
