DEED: Searcy, 1797, Madison Co., KY -------------------------------- From: d3nmb@earthlink.net (Debra Branigan) -------------------------------- Deed Deed Book D, p. 422 Madison Co., KY This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of November in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven Between Lucy Searcy widow and Executrix of Bartlett Searcy Dec'd. of the County of Madison and the State of Kentucky of the one part and Sam'l Searcy of the County and State aforesaid witnesseth that the aforesaid Lucy Searcy widow and executrix of Bartlett Searcy Dec'd late of the County of Granville and State of North Carolina hath granted bargained and Sold unto the said Samuel Searcy one of the sons and Legatees of the aforesaid Bartlett Searcy Dec'd and for and In consideration of part of the said Samuel Searcy's interest in and to the (---) Estate of his said Father, doth grant bargain and sell and confirm unto the said Samuel Searcy his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and seven acres be the same more or less situated in the aforesaid County of Madison, being part of a preemption of one thousand acres granted by the commissioners to Richard Harrison and bounded as followeth To Wit. Beginning at the black ash sugar tree and white oak corner to Robert McCord thence north one hundred and fifty four poles to a beech and sugar trees thence west one hundred and eleven poles to a sugar tree and (--- ---) thence South to a Sugartree and Mulberry thence last to the beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Samuel Searcy his heirs and assigns forver and the aforesaid Lucy Searcy Widow and Executrix of Bartlett Searcy Dec'd dotj by these Presents warrant and will forever Defend the aforesaid Tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said Samuel Searcy his heirs and assigns forever against all and every person or Persons whatsoever.
