DEED: Searcy, 1813, Madison Co., KY -------------------------------- From: d3nmb@earthlink.net (Debra Branigan) -------------------------------- Deed Deed Book L. pp. 212-213 Madison Co., KY This indenture made this 4th day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand, Eight hundred and thirteen between John McCord of the county of Madison and State of Kentucky and Jinney his wife of the one part and Samuel Searcy of the county and state of the aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the foresaid John McCord and Jinney his wife for and in consideration of the sum of twenty two pounds current money to them in hand paid the receipts whereof they hereby acknowledge hath granted bargain (inserted above)"sold and by they presents forth grant bargain" and sell unto the said Samuel Searcy his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing twenty-two acres situated in the aforesaid County of Madison on the waters of Otter Creek being part of the tract conveyed to said McCord by David McCord his father and from William Smith to him and his wife Mary the part hereby conveyed to Samuel Searcy containing twenty two acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows towit, Beginning at Ironwood and Elm on Richard Harrison's preemption line thence with his line west 54 poles to two sugartrees thence south 64 poles to Ironwood and Elm on the bank of Stoney Run Thence with the meanders of said Run up to Beach and Buckeye an James Campbells line thence North with said line 40 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with its appertenances unto the said Samuel Searcy his heirs and assigns forever and the aforesaid John McCord and his wife Jinney for themselves, their heris Executors and administrators doth by these presents warrant and will forever defend the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and singular appertenances thereunto belonging untothe said Samuel Searcy his heris and assigns forever against all and ever person whatsoever.
