Whereas, Death, the great arbiter between man and man, and who exacts the same toll from each and all, laid his icy hands upon one of our venerable citizens, "Uncle" Peter Howe, at the confederate soldiers home, Pewee Valley, Ky., Dec 1914, and he ushered into the great unknown, after 75 (sic) years of struggle upon Mother Earth. Whereas, in the death of "Uncle" Peter Howe many hearts have been sorely touched and many heads bowed in reverence, for he was greatly beloved by all who knew him. He was an honorable and upright man, charitable with each and all, a true friend and a kind and indulgent father. In his demise our beloved Past Chancellor, W. L. (William Lee) Howe has sustained a most sad and irreparable loss. Therefore, be it Resolved, that we, the members of Normal City Lodge no 162 of Richmond, Ky. tender our deepest sympathy to brother W. L. Howe who so recently stood beside the grave of his father and through glistening tears heard and saw the clod clods as they fell upon the coffin lid. To him and all relatives and friends of the deceased we have only words of condolence to offer. Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of our lodge, a copy be mailed to Bro. W. L. Howe and the same be published in Climax-Madisonian. (Frank L. Russell Chairman; D.
