He was a native of Whitley County, but had lived in Richmond for the past 35 years. He was a member of the Richmond Lion's Club, American Legion Post 12, was a former city councilman and former owner of the Dixie Restaurant, and a veteran of World War I. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary F. Moses; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Bowling, Knoxville, and Lynn Elias, Cynthiana; a son, George M. Moses, Jr., Richmond; a brother, Lewis Moses, Pleasant View; four sisters, Mrs. Susie Moses, Mrs. Mossie Moses, both of Pleasant View; Mrs. Delia Hatfield, Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs. Beulah Bunch, Cincinnati, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted on Monday, June16 at the Turpin Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Blademore with burial in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Military rites were conducted at the grave site. Pallbearers were: Kenton Moberly, W.R. Bennett, Caperton Purnam, Randall Burke, Ballard Luxon, Jr., Joe Hamm, and Bill Strong. Honorary pallbearers; members of the Richmond Lion's Club.
