Biography, LEMASTER, Beecher Magoffin County, Ky 2004 Submitted by: Joe Conley Joe_Conley@HMIS.ORG *********************************************************************** BEECHER LEMASTER Beecher was the last born child of Henry "App" and Nora (Prater) Lemaster of Falcon. Beecher was unable to get in the Marine Corp from his hometown. He signed up with the U S Army and along with his cousin, Roy Conley, he made the bus ride (at Uncle Sam's expense). After purposely failing the entry exam he was dismissed and promptly sought out the Marine Recruting office where he joined up. His goal had been to gain access to the recruiting office in the first place. After he joined the Marine Corp as a young teen, he made a career in the military. He retired after 20 years and made his home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. After retirement he became head mechanic at Valley Volkswagon until illness forced his retirement from that.
