Venus Marshall Allen, 79, of Salyersville, died Thursday, 
July 24,2003 at her residence.

Born Aug. 12, 1923, in Tifton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the 
late Claude and Fannie Risner Marshall. She was a homemaker 
and a member of Big Lick Pentecostal Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Allen; 
and a brother, Afton “Buck” Marshall.

Survivors include three sons, Deloy Allen, Claude William Allen 
and Rance Edwin Allen, all of Salyersville; four daughters, Arbadella 
Spradlin of Marshall, Mich., Tina Altic of Coral Springs, Fla., and 
Dianna Arrington and Melissa Biery, both of Salyersville; 
16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 26, at Big Lick Pentecostal 
Church of God with Adam Dewayne Marshall officiating. Burial 
was in Allen Family Cemetery, East Mountain Parkway, 
Salyersville, under direction of Magoffin Funeral Home, Salyersville.
