Obits: Hall, James Wardie Magoffin County, Kentucky Sept 2006 Submitted by ; Diane Montgomery Parsons magoffin_co@yahoo.com ********************************************************************* 1928 - 2006 James Wardie Hall, age 77, a resident of Oscoda, Michigan, passed away June 24, 2006 at his home. James Wardie was born at Elsie in Magoffin County, KY on December 16, 1928 to the late James and Orpha Reed Hall. James Wardie married Virginia Esther Lesser on January 1, 1951. James Wardie served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was stationed in Germany in the First Infantry Division, 5th Field Artillary, Battery "B". James Wardie also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1965. James Wardie worked for Eymer & Duchane Hardware in Oscoda and was a bus driver for Oscoda Area Schools retiring in 1990. James Wardie was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing and bowling. He volunteered as a bingo worker at the Hale VFW Hall and served as a volunteer fireman for the Oscoda Fire Department. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife Virginia, 2 daughters, Linda (Glenn) Jacob of Illinios, and Elaine (Michael) Free of Oscoda, also surviving are five grandcholdren, Adrienne Marie Brammer,Brain James Hall Brammert, Michelle Free, Jessica Free and Nathan Free and one great grandson, Spencer Cole Lafnear, and a sister, Betty Jo Holderby of Salyersville, KY; brother-in-law Ruben (Pam) Lesser of Chelsea; three nieces; and one nephew. A life celebration will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the Hall family home in Oscoda. Pastor Rick McClendon will officiate. Those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Magoffin County Historical Society, Box 222, Salyersville, KY 41465 or Heartland Hospic, West Branch.
