Vera V. Montgomery of Chelsea, age 83, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at St. 
Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI. She was born October 14, 1924 in 
Salyersville, KY, the daughter of Kash & Dorothy (Watkins) Arnett.  Vera 
attended Moorehead State College. She worked at Associated Springs where they 
made auto parts. Vera was a member of the First Baptist Church.  On June 
29,1946, she married Hade Montgomery in Salyersville, KY, and he preceded her 
in death on March 4, 1982. She is survived by a two daughters, Dorothy (Al 
Hartman) Montgomery of Covington, KY, Eula (Lloyd) Eddy of Chelsea; two sons, 
Charles (Sue Bareis) Montgomery of Chelsea, James Montgomery of Manchester; a 
brother, Dr. Edsel (Lois) Arnett of Lexington, KY; 10 grandchildren; Margie 
(Lyle) Portice, Vera (Danny) Pratt, Lloyd (Anne) Eddy, Christopher Montgomery, 
Bridgett (Mark) Cramston, Katrina (Jeff) Kolman, James Montgomery, Kandice 
(Dustin) Montgomery, Ronnie Clay, Kamber Montgomery; and 7 1/2 great-
grandchildren, Alec, Sarah, Rebecca, Faith, Elliot, Kelsey, Mason, and one on 
the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hade, an infant son, and two 
sisters.  The family will receive friends at the Cole Funeral Chapel in 
Chelsea, MI on Monday, June 30, from 5-9 pm and at the Magoffin County Funeral 
Home in Salyersville, KY on Tuesday, July 1, from 6-9 pm . A graveside service 
will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 2 at Montgomery Cemetery, Sublett, 
Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 107 
Aprill Drive Suite 1, Ann Arbor, MI 48103-1903.
