Age: 70

Alta Mae Murphy, aka “Pee Wee”, 70, of Salyersville, died Sunday, 
May 9, at Salyersville Health Care Center, Salyersville.

Born Dec. 11, 1933, in Elsie, she was a daughter of the late Boyd and 
Eva Crace Gibson. She was a retired waitress.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dud Murphy; and four brothers, 
Challis Gibson, Dallas Gibson, Ellis Ray Gibson, and Kenneth J. Gibson.

Survivors include two sisters, Edith Grey Fannin of Salyersville, and 
Rella Faye Wheeler of West Liberty; and four brothers, Henry Clay Gibson 
of Winchester, Bill K. Gibson of Salyersville, Jim Day Gibson of West Van Lear,
and Garry Lay Gibson of West Liberty. 

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 12, at Salyersville 
Funeral Home, Salyersville, with Rev. Grover Hammonds officiating. Burial 
will be in Earl May Cemetery, Salyersville, under direction of Salyersville 
Funeral Home.
