Raney "Bud" Helton
Died: Tuesday, October 21, 2003
Age: 59

Raney “Bud” Helton, 59, of Salyersville, 
died Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, 
Prestonsburg.

Born July 31, 1944, in Magoffin County, he was a son of 
Cassie Mae Hartsock Helton and the late Sherman Helton. He 
was a Consolidated Coal Company operator and a member of 
Royalton United Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hassel Helton; and a sister,
Virgie Francis.

Additional survivors include his wife, Mae Lyon Helton of Salyersville; 
two sons, Gerald Anthony Helton and Jeffery Wayne Helton, both 
of Salyersville; a brother, Billy Gene Helton of Salyersville; four 
sisters, Betty Jenkins and Ina Nell Lyon, both of Salyersville, 
Elvie Jenkins of West Liberty, and Joyce Stapleton of Fairborn, 
Ohio; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 24, at Magoffin 
County Funeral Home Chapel, Salyersville, with Revs. Kenneth 
Salyers and Delbert Porter officiating. Burial will be in Helton 
Family Cemetery, Royalton, under direction of Magoffin County 
Funeral Home.
