Obits: ROSCOE ROW, d.12/20/1999 Oct, 2001 Magoffin County, KY Submitted by: Ky.quest@gte.net (Diane Montgomery Parsons ************************************************** ROSCOE ROW CAREY,OHIO -- Roscoe Row, 75, of 609 Fairlane Drive, Carey, died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Eaglewood Care Center, Carey. He was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Magoffin County, Ky., to Raleigh and Maudie (Dyer) Row. He married Marilynn M. Beard on Nov. 4, 1944, in Covington, Ky., and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Dianne Bloom, Kathy Tharp, Sandra Reinhart, all of Carey; two sons, Verner and Roscoe, both of Carey; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorane Coldiron, Vanlue; Iris Billock, Carey. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Phyllis Jean Row; five brothers, Orville, Arba, Randy, W.B. and infant Arnold; and two sisters, Ora Owens, infant Avery Row. Mr. Row retired in 1987 after 20 years with National Lime and Stone Co., Carey. Previously, he worked 22 years at the former Swann Rubber Co., Carey. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post 344, Carey. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey, the Rev. Paul W. DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
