He was born July 23, 1964 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Orville and Sandra (Griffith) Whitaker. His mother, survives in North Baltimore, Ohio and his father preceded him in death in 1965. Sam has a biological sister, LaDonna Whitaker Clary living in Clackamus, Oregon, plus a niece and nephew of the same address. He has three (3) half-brothers; Lona Clarence Wittenmyer, Luster Ray Howes Jr. of Fostoria, Ohio and Stephanie and Holli Cramer of North Baltimore. Sam was a grandson of Orville Whitaker and Jane (Salyers) Whitaker, deceased, of Marshallsville, Ky. He was also preceded in death by his Aunt Bessie Lee (Whitaker) Risner, Betty Jean (Whitaker) Fletcher, his Uncles, Carl Whitaker and Marvin Whitaker of Salyersville, Kentucky. Mr. Whitaker was cremated in Clackamus, Oregon and his remains was sent to his mother, Sandra Cramer. He was then buried in the Whitaker Graveyard between his grandmother and grandfather’s grave and his father’s grave. A service was held by the immediate family on September 28, 2003, with his Aunt Joesphine (Whitaker) Rice, his Aunt Darlene (Whitaker) Trusty, and his Uncle, C.M. Whitaker, plus his cousins, Norma Jean (Rice) Haymand and her husband and son, and Judith Ann (Marshall) Collinsworth and her husband, his mother Sandra Cramer and her husband in attendance.
