Obits: Patrick, Housten Magoffin County, Kentucky Sept 2006 Submitted by ; Diane Montgomery Parsons magoffin_co@yahoo.com ********************************************************************* Housten Patrick was the son of Evelyn Rice Patrick and Green Patrick, being the first child in a family of four. He was born Sept. 16,1955 and passed from this life March 8, 1947, at the age of 91 yrs, 5 months and 22 days. In 1876, at the age of 21 he was married to Rebecca Patton who preceeded him in death seven years ago. To this union eleven children were born - five boys and six girls. Bill, Charlie, and Frank Patrick of Bradley. Mrs. Howard Adams, McGuffy, Ohio, Mrs. Patrick Power, Mansfield, Ohio, Mrs. Eddie Willis, Wenatchee, Washington, Mrs. Spencer West, Calettsburg, KY, and Mrs. Homer Arnett, Kern. Harry and Nan Patrick, deceased. Uncle Housten, as he was affectionally called by his neighbors and friends, was a farmer by nature and earned his living by tilling the soil until several years ago when he was stricken with ill health. He has always been a peaceable, quiet and trust- worthy neighbor, always enjoying the friendly converstations of his neighbors when they would call to visit with him. Uncle Housten used to be a daily reader of the bible until he became mentally incapacitated. For the past few years of his life he spent many hours singing which we attribute to the peace and happiness that was in his heart. Although he never united with any church, we feel that being absent from us he is present with his saviour. The writer of this obituary heard Uncle Housten say during the last few days of his illness as he reached his hand toward heaven. "It will be better after awhile". To those of you who mourn be comforted by this thought that he is now resting in peace away from the cares and hardships of this world, and at the dawn of the resurrection he will rise with all the saints to meet his saviour: and here as he looks in to the eyes of a merciful Christ we will be admonished to enter in and inherit the home that has been prepared for him. He will be missed by lots of relatives and many many neighbors and friends. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
