Luster "Cotton" Phipps, age 84, of Beaver Pike, Jackson, Ohio 
(Jackson County) died March 15, 2001 at Huston's Nursing Home, 
in Hamden, Ohio. 

He was born November 26, 1916 in Magoffin County, Kentucky 
to the late Ashford Phipps and Bettie Tackett Phipps. Cotton was 
a veteran of World War II and was actively involved in the battles 
of New Guinea, South Philippines (Liberation) and the Luzon. 

Services will be held on Sunday, March 18 at 2 p.m. at the 
Cox Funeral Home at Beaver, Ohio. Burial will follow in the 
Mountain Ridge Cemetery, Scioto Township, Jackson County, Ohio.
