He was born May 25, 1947, in Magoffin County, Ky. to Leander and Laura (Watkins) Rowe. On Jan. 28, 1968, he married Sally Salsbury, and she survives in Alger. Survivors also include one son, Kenneth (Angela) Rowe of Alger; two daughters, Kellie (Marc) Paugh of Dunkirk and Korri Rowe at home; two brothers, Hargis Rowe of Paintsville, Ky. and Stratton (Bonnie) Minix of Alger; three sisters, Margie Gartside of Lima; and Betty Mann and Dorothy (Bill) Huff, both of Alger; and seven grandchildren, Samantha, Whitney, Seth, Sydney, Shelby, Keaton and Kylee. Mr. Rowe was employed by Ford Motor Company of Lima, retiring Aug. 1, 1998. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, First Mechanized Division "Big Red One;" was awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and Purple Heart. He was a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 and also a member of the U.A.W. Local 1219. He was a 1965 graduate of Alger High School. The Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, Ohio was in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Calvin Waugh officiated. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
