Shepherd, Jeannette -1934-2005

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2 p.m. 
at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary North Manchester Chapel 
for Jeannette Shepherd, 71, of North Manchester, Ind., who 
passed away Saturday, July 30 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center 
in Lafayette, Ind. 

Mrs. Shepherd was born March 16, 1934 in Magoffin County, Ky., 
daughter of the late Alex Whittaker and Parratt Shepherd. She was 
also preceded in death by her husband, David Shepherd Sr.; one son, 
David Shepherd; and two grandchildren. 

Surviving are six sons, Dewey Jr., Joseph, Herbert, and Klink Shepherd, 
all of North Manchester, Ind., Jake Shepherd of Servia, Ind., and Steve 
Shepherd of Howard, Tenn.; seven daughters, Debbie (Floyd) Swindle 
of Baldwin, Miss., Katie Shepherd of Claypool, Ind., Sadie Shepherd of 
Silver Lake, Ind., Evelene (Bobbie) Harding of Lutz, Fla., Peggy (Raymond) 
Myers of Lake Wales, Fla., Brenda Layne of North Manchester, Ind., and 
Bethel (Wallace) Dingess of Servia, Ind.; one brother, Russell Whitaker 
of Rensselaer, Ind.; one sister, Betty Ruth McCarty of Salyersville, Ky.; 
and 19 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. 

The service will be officiated by the Rev. James Rowe, with burial in the 
Sidney Cemetery at Sidney, Ind. Arrangements under the direction of 
the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary of North Manchester, Ind.
