Stone Of Jackson, Mi. passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the age of 80. Palmer was born on November 30, 1927 in Salyersville, Kentucky. Palmer is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marguerite; and their six children. Daughters, Sherry (Jim) Mapes, Alena (Gary) McCrum, Dorene (Chuck) Parylak; sons, John (Autumn) Stone, Tim (Jen) Stone, and Robert (Melissa) Stone; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Ewers; one brother, Wade (Sharon) Stone; and several nieces and nephews. Palmer served our country in the Army during World War II. He also served as an usher for over 30 years at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Jackson. Palmer was retired from Consumers (Power) Energy after 37 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, especially the trips to the family cottage at Secord Lake, MI. One of his favorites pastimes was shooting pool. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Palmer will be missed greatly and remembered for his loving generosity, his charisma, and his strong will to live. He was an extremely hard worker and a dedicated family man. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Palmer was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him, including his dogs, Kalie and Kassie. Palmer is preceded in death by his parents, James and Bertha (Howard) Stone; one brother; and three sisters. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Reverend James Shaver officiating.
