Cecil Tackett
1919-2006
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 17, 11 a.m. at the 
Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky., for Cecil Tackett, 
87, of Paintsville, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 
Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky.

Mr. Tackett was born March 1, 1919 in Magoffin County, Ky., 
son of the late Chat Tackett and Pinola Howard. He was a former 
custodian at Paintsville Elementary School. He was also preceded 
in death by five brothers, Jess, Arlie, Neal, Henry and Kennel Tackett; 
and one sister, Bessie Moore.

Surviving are his wife, Ora Haney Tackett of Paintsville; four sons, 
Willis Woodrow Tackett of Waverly, Ohio, Phillip Roger Tackett of Johnstown, 
Ohio, Wendell Lee Tackett of Wabash, Ind., and Cecil Curtis Tackett of Paintsville; 
and 14 grandchildren and several grandchildren.

The service will be officiated by Buddy McKenzie, Josh Wright and Eddie Pelphrey, 
with burial following in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
