Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 26, noon, at the 
Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for James Henry Tackett, 87, 
of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Saturday, Dec. 23 at 
Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville.

Mr. Tackett was born June 26, 1919 in Magoffin County, Ky., 
son of the late Lonnie and Stella Cantrell Tackett. 

He was a retired fruit salesman with Pratt Fruit, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife, June Preston Tackett of Paintsville; one son, 
James Michael Tackett; one daughter, Phyllis Ann Brannon; five brothers, 
Oliver Tackett of Paden City, W.Va., Willie and Dee Tackett, both of Salyersville, 
Ky., Elmer Tackett of Ocala, Fla., and Billy Tackett of New Carlisle, Ohio; two 
sisters, Emma Johnson and Leatha Conley, both of Salyersville; and two 
grandchildren.

The service was officiated by Mike Tackett, with burial in the Highland Memorial 
Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home 
of Paintsville.
