Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville. Born June 12, 1922, in Breathitt County, she was a daughter of the late Jerry and Amanda Oaks. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thompson; a son, Harold Thompson; three brothers, Walter Oaks, Wilson Oaks, and Cal Oaks; three sisters, Florence White, Viola Robinson, and Ethel Thompson. Survivors include three sons, Morris Thompson and Horace Grant Thompson, both of Salyersville, and Alfred Thompson of Erie, Penn.; three sisters, Ora Lee Thompson and Brenda Thompson, both of Salyersville, and Ethel Smith of Jackson; a brother, Arthur Oaks of Jackson; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, March 26, at Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel, Salyersville, with Simon Porter officiating. Burial was in Stray Branch Cemetery, Jackson, under direction of Magoffin County Funeral Home.
