Walters, James Howard    1933-1996 

Retired manager James Howard Walters, 62, died February 29 1996 in 
Salyersville. 

Mr. Walters was born April 27, 1933, in Johnson County, the son of 
the late Alan and Lydia Stanaford Walters. 

He was retired from the grocery business and a member of the 
Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church. 

Surviving are his wife, Helen Page Walters; two sons, Terry Walters 
of Dayton, Ohio, and Tim Walters of Miamisburg, Ohio; two stepdaughters, 
Melissa Meek of Paintsville and Shandra Wells of Prestonsburg; one 
brother, Edd Walters of Lexington; two sisters, Barbara Turner of Lowmansviile, 
and Wilma Arnett of Salyersville; and five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren 
and one great-grandchild. 

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 3, at Tom's Creek Freewill 
Baptist Church, with Paul Wayne Browning and James K. Caudill officiating. 

Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with Preston 
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
