Wright, Mattie Hazeletta  - 1919-2005

Funeral services were held Monday, August 29, 6:30 p.m. at 
the First Baptist Church of South Daytona, Fla., for Mattie H. Wright, 
86, of South Daytona, who passed away Friday, August 26 at the
 Health Care Center of Daytona. 

Mrs. Wright was born April 22, 1919 in Magoffin County, Ky., daughter 
of the late Thomas and Hanna Hazlette. 

She had worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Ypsilanti, Mich., and was 
a member of the First Baptist Church of South Daytona. 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wright; one 
step-daughter, Betty Doerr; five sisters, Eva Estep, Reva Castle, 
Katherine Cantrill, Ruth Centers, and Julie Swartz; and two brothers, 
James W. and Johnnie Hazlette. 

Surviving are three brothers, Sammy Hazlette of Ypsilanti, Mich., and 
Thomas Jr. an Clyde Hazlette, both of Hager Hill, Ky.; two sisters, 
Fannie Louise Ehrman of Shelby, Ohio, and Sarah Ann Hazlette of 
Fort Wayne, Ind.; three step-children, Pauline Holcomb of Ypsilanti, Mich., 
Clifford Dale Wright of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Nila Thorpe of Caro, Mich.; 
and 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. 

The service was officiated by Pastor Ronnie Barton, with interment in the 
Washtenaw Memorial Park at Barton Hill, Mich. Arrangements under the 
direction of the Cardwell & Maloney Funeral Home of Port Orange, Fla.
