Lee Tharp Obituary (Circa 1900, Newspaper Unknown, Lebanon, KY)

DIES SUDDENLY IN BUGGY

While coming to town Saturday, Lee THARP died suddenly in his buggy on the
Danville Pike, just this side of Grime*,s hill.  The deceased had complained the
day before of a dizzy spell which disturbed him some, but on the day of his
death he had felt unusually well and was in the best of spirits.  At the time
the fatal summons came he was driving along in company with his brother-in-law,
Mr. (Shelby) MURPHY, when suddenly his head fell to his chest and the lines
dropped from his hands.  His brother-in-law noticing this asked him what was
the matter and receiving no answer he soon discovered that Mr. THARP was in a
dying condition.  Hurrying on to town he drove to Dr. THORNTON*,S office where
it was found that life was extinct.  His remains were taken to the office of
BOSLEY and HUGHES, the undertakers, and prepared for burial.  Funeral services
were conducted at his residence on Pope*,s Creek (on) Monday by Rev. T.F.
WALTON, of Bradfordsville, after which the interment took place at Bethel
Union.  The deceased was 24 years old and is survived by his wife and two
children, who have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
