                                LINDZE PREECE
                                1903 ~1997

     Lindzie Preece, 93, of Lovely, died Wednesday, April 2 in Martin County
Health Care, Inez.
     Born September 18, 1903 in Preece, he is a son of the late Freeland and
Minerva Preece.
     Mr. Preece was a retired sergeant.
     In addition to his parents, he was  preceded in death by: his wife, Virgie
Tiller Preece; two sons, Kenneth Preece and William Zeltic Preece; several
brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.
     Survivors include: two sisters, Emma Dot Moore and Judy Maynard, both of
Lovely; one daughter-in-law, Billie Jean Preece, Lovely; granddaughter, Kendra
Lynette Preece, Lovely; and one great-grandson, Austin Kendall Preece, Lovely.
     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Union United Baptist
Church, Pilgrim, with Ministers Woodrow Nichols and Jack Small officiating.
     Burial followed at the Preece Cemetery, Lovely, under the direction of
Richmond-Callahan Funeral Home, Inez.
