Will: Ward, John C. 1919 Martin County, Kentucky Will book 1 Page 178 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOHN C. WARD. I, John C. Ward of Inez, Martin County, Kentucky, being in feble health but of sound mind and memory, make, publish and declare this to be my LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, to wit: FIRST: All my just debts and funeral expenses shall first be duly paid. SECOND: I gave, devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal to my beloved wife, Mary Ward, to have and to hold to her, my said wife and assigns forever. THIRD: I nominate and appoint my said wife, Mary Ward, to be the executrix of this my last will and Testament. FOURTH: My said executrix shall have full power, right and authority to receive and receipt for all outstanding debts, rents, interest or other thing that might be due me outstanding or due to my estate. (This will is not go to record untill J. C. Ward death) IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 20th day of December, A.D. 1919. John C. THIS DECEMBER 20th, 1919. WITNESSES: U.G. Johnson. J.S. Cassady. MARTIN COUNTY COURT. February Term, February 9th, 1920. At a county court began and held in and for the county of Martin at the Court House in, the town of Eden on Monday, Feb. 9th, 1920, the regular Judge, Hon. L.F. Aldrodge presiding. An instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and Testament of John C. Ward, deceased, was produced and filed in open court, and the execution of said instrument was proven in open court the oath of J.S. Cassady one of the attesting witnesses, who after being duly sworn stated that the said testator John C. Ward, signed sealed and delivered the said instrument to be his last will and testament in his presence and in the presence of U.G. Johnson the other subscribing witness; that he and U.G. Johnson the other subscribing witness signed said writing in the presence ot the testator, John C. Ward, and in the presence of each other, and that said witness signed same at the request of the testator. WHEREUPON it is ordered and adjudged by the court that said instrument is the LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of John C. Ward, deceased, and the same is herby admited to probate as a will of real and personal property and is ordered to be recorded, which accordingly is hereby done.
