CADY, Nee Mitchell, is a native of Kentucky, born at Maysville, whither her great-grandfather, Jacob Boone (a favorite cousin of the distinguished pioneer, Daniel Boone) immigrated and settled in 1786; was liberally educated; developed at 15 a love for poetry, and at that age wrote several pieces with marked poetic taste; has contributed short poems to the Louisville Journal, Willis' Home Journal, Saturday Evening Post, and to the papers of her native city, Maysville Eagle and Maysville Bulletin. About 1854, she was married to Jarvis G. Cady; in 1873-4, was a resident of Covington, Ky. [Note: Poems shown: "Immortal" and "The Fabric Of Life."
