Davis was born June 26, 1856, in Livingston County, Ky. He is a son of Thomas M. Davis, a deceased merchant of Smithland, Ky. Dr. Frank T. Davis was educated in the Transylvania University of Lexington, Ky. and in the Cecilian College, at Cecilian Junction, Ky. In 1875, he began the study of medicine, under Dr. Sweeney, of Lexington, Ky., abd after the usual preparatory reading, attended two courses of lectures in the medical department of Transylvania University. In 1877, he entered the Jefferson Medical College, of Philadelphia, from which he graduated the following year. He then went to Paducah, practiced one year in connection with Dr. R. Saunders, and soon established a reputation as a skillful physician. He is a member of the Paducah Medical Association, of the Jefferson Alumni Association, and is the president of the Medical Association of southwestern Kentucky. He is also a member of the Masonic fraternity and K.of H. He was married in Paducah, in 1880 to Miss Millie Fowler, daughter of Capt. J.H. Fowler and has one child-- Mattie S. Davis.
