This indenture made and entered into this 16th day of December in the year 
1851 between Sam'l H. Haney of the first part and Wm. Hister of the County 
of Christian and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the second part, Witnessth that
the said Sam'l H. Haney for in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him
in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath this day
bargained and sold and doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell, to him 
the said Wm. Hister his heirs and assigns, a certain lot or parcel of ground 
together with all the appertanances thereunto belonging or was appertaining
thereunto lying and being in the Town of Paducah State of Kentucky and known
upon the ---? map of said town as being a part of block twenty one with known 
addition to said town commencing at a stake at the corner of Poplar and 
Jefferson Streets thence down Jefferson Street fifty seven feet nine inches
to a stake thence at right angles one hundred and seventy three feet three 
inches to a stone. Thence at right angles towards Poplar Street and to said 
street fifty seven feet nine inches to a stake thence up Poplar street one
hundred twenty three feet thence inches to the beginning ---? and to --? the 
said lot or parcel of ground with all and singular the appertanances thereunto 
belonging to him the said William Hister his heirs and assigns from continue
as fitting that of the said Sam'l H. Haney of the first part shall will and 
truely pay or cause to be paid unto him the said William Hister the sum of 
four hundred and two dollars and twenty cents due by 15th ---? date herewith
with legal interest therein by or before the 16th day of December 1853 then 
this indenture to be void else to remain in full force and ---?

In witness whereof the said Sam'l H.Haney hath hereunto set his hand and seal
the day and date first above written.

I Branton Small, Clerk of the County Court of the County forsaid do certify
that this date from Sam'l H. Haney to William Hister was on the 16th day of
December 1851 acknowledged before me in my office by Sam'l Haney to his act
and deed and immediately placed in ___ for record. Where upon this day admitted
the same together with this certificate to record in my office.
