Jones of the Town of Paducah, Ky. of the one part and Thos.J. Adkins of the County of McCracken and town of Paducah, Ky. of the second part. Witnessth that whereas the said A.S. Jones and party of the first part is indebted to the said party of the second part of the sum of $365.81 due in two notes, bearing date the 30th day of June 1851, one for $176.50 due five months after date, the other for $181.25 due four months after date now to secure the payment of said notes the said A.S.Jones and party of the first part hath this day, bargained and sold and by these presents bargain, sell, and convey unto the party of the second part all and singular, the dry goods, groceries and provisions now on hand and in this grocery store on corner of Covirt? and Market Streets in Paducah. Belonging to the party of the first part of whatever kind or description in trust known and and to be sold by retail in said store in as indicions? a manner and for the best prices that can be had either for cash in hand or on a short credit and the proceeds of the same after the expences of selling and for rent of room are paid, to be applied to the payment of the aforementioned debt of $365.81 until all of the same is fully paid off and satisfied. When all of said debts shall be paid then the residue of said goods and groceries left in hand if any there be which I now transfer and to be given up to me said party of the second part or any other person he may think proper to employ is to make sale of said goods and grociers in the manner and for the purpose aforesaid In Witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this date first written A.S.Jones (seal) Kentucky, McCracken County Sct. I Braxton Small a Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that this deed of trust or mortgage from A.S.Jones to Thos. J. Adkins was on the 4th day of March 1852 acknowledged before me in my office by the said A.S. Jones to be his act and deed and immediatly placed on the index for record.
