The line apparently began with an English immigrant from Kent who came to Virginia in circa 1643. While the original name was ALCOCK later generations changed it to ALLCOCK and ALCOKE. I believe that the many ALLCOCK and ALCOCK families in Ballard, McCrackin and Graves Counties, Kentucky and ALCOKES in Grant and Kenton Counties, Kentucky probably trace back to the same immigrant to old Virginia. I have info on dozens of W. Kentucky FRISTOEs (of whom I am descended) but few links. Pamela S. Carter < CherChair@a0l.com > I am seeking a marriage record for my grandparents, John A. SMOOT and Laura Jane ("Jennie") McCLAIN. They were married in Paducah, KY in 1913 or 1914. McCLAIN was not my grandmother's birth name; it was her first husband's name. Her birth name was DOUBLIN but I have seen it spelled DOUBLINE or DUBLIN as well. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Both were residents of Graves County, KY. Thanks Thomas C.
