Parrish, 59 , Baptist Minister, Dies Dr. A. Mack Parrish, 59, widely known evangelist and Baptist preacher, died at 1 a.m. yesterday at his home in Paducah. Word of the death was received here by a daughter Mrs. Almond Cooke, Lexington Road. Dr. Parrish had been ill several months. At the time of his death, he was secretary of the West Kentucky Baptist Hospital and director of archeology for the State. He ws appointed to that post, which carried no salary, by Governor Simeon Willis and retained by Governor Earle Clements. Was Known As Evangelist Dr. Parrish was a native of Cave City. He attended Bethel College, Russellville, and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary here. He was known widely as an evangelist in Kentucky and nearby states. He preached frequently in Louisville churches, and formerly was pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, Paducah. Before going to Paducah, he held pastorates in Greenville and Taylorsville. His interest in sports was confined largely to fox hunting. He was a member of the Masons and the Shrine. Funeral in Paducah Today Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jane Cornelia Parrish; two other daughters, Mrs. Howard Dempsey, Greenville, and Mrs. Johnson MIller, Taylorsville; two brothers, Terry Parrish, Louisville, and Nat Parrish, Cave City, and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie P. Barlow, Glasgow, and Mrs. Edna Gardner, Cave City. Funeral will be held in Paducah at 3 p.m. today. The body will be brought here for services and burial in Resthaven Cemetery at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
