C. and Bell Vann Butler was born in Scott County, Tenn. on September 1, 1885, deceased this life on May 2, 1954, at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 1 day. She married James Acres, January 22, 1911, and to this union were born 6 children, 4 of which preceded her in death. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Charles Acres of Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter, Mrs. Ancil Russell, Orlando, Fla., also one son, and one daughter by a former marriage, James Hatfield, of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Hattie Williams, Beckley, West Virginia. 1 grandchild, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Frank Butler of Huntsville, Tenn., and Tom Butler of Los Angeles, Calif, 3 sisters, Mrs. Mary Lloyd of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Roddie Hughett of Oneida, Tenn.; Mrs. Joe Hatfield of Vasper, Tenn., and a host of other relatives and friends. Early in life she professed a hope in Christ, and was a charter member of the Norma Baptist Church, at Norma, Tenn. Later she moved her membership to the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Oneida, Tenn., where she remained a member until her death. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Sapphire Chapter No. 259 in Oneida, Tenn. Our loss is great, but we feel that it is a gain to her.
