W. Blevins-was born April 11, 1892, in the Pleasant Grove Community near Winfield, Tennessee, and passed away at her home January 31, 1960. Lucreta was united in Holy Matrimony to Ray Strunk early in life. To this union was born four children, Floyd Strunk, and Elsie King of Winfield, Edith Duncan of Oneida, and Lloyd Strunk of Chattanooga, Tennessee. After the passing of Ray Strunk, she was joined in marriage to Reverend J. W. Blevins. She leaves to grieve her passing, her husband Brother Blevins, the four children mentioned above, ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Also her brothers Walter Duncan of Winfield, David Duncan of Middlesboro, Kentucky, and J. H. Duncan of Winfield. And her sisters, Etta Chitwood, Minnie Murphy, Verna Wilson, and Nell Chitwood, all of Winfield, Maude Chambers of Danville, Kentucky, Stella Cravens of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a great host of other relatives and friends. Sister Blevins was a great stay to Brother Blevins in preaching the Gospel for many years. She was always by his side in revival work in different churches. Her passing was a great shock to the following churches and communities, Pine Grove and Second Bethlehem, Winfield; Pleasant Grove, Isham, and Pine Knot. Sister Blevins was a faithful member of the Pleasant Grove Church where she worked side by side with Brother Blevins in numerous revivals through the many years he has been pastor of this and other churches. We are sure the many Christians who love and have been blessed by Brother Blevins and Sister Blevins would like to join Brother Blevins and the entire family in this terrible hour of sorrow and extend their kindest and most tender sympathy. While we are weeping here we are sure there is joy in heaven and we feel the Great Giver of Life has said "Come in ye blest of my Father, you have fought a good fight. Welcome home forever more."
