H. and Winnie West Burk. He was born July 22, 1917 and departed this life March 11, 1966 between 5:10 and 8:00 a.m. at Hand S. Pogue Co., Cincinnati, Ohio where he had been employed since November 19, 1962, age 48 years, 7 months, and 17 days at the time of his death. He professed a hope in Christ in September, 1939, joined the Bethalonia Baptist Church where he remained a loyal member until death. He was a true and faithful Christian, serving the Lord and filling his duties in Sunday School and Church until he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio November 11, 1962. He then attended the Valley View United Baptist Church until taken to be with the Lord. He was united in marriage to Bernice Boyatt Burk January 2, 1940. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, also his mother, Winnie West Burk, February 23, 1923 and one other brother, Ester Burk, May 11, 1961. He is survived by his father and step-mother, W. H. and Rilda Thomas Burk; wife, Bernice Boyatt Burk; 3 daughters, Barbara Jean and Winnie Faye Burk and Mrs. Marlene Gilreath; 1 son, Norman Lee Burk; 1 grandson, Kenneth Ray, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; 1 brother Mitchell Burk of Winfield; 7 half-brothers, Lewis Burk of Muncie, Indiana, T. L., Howard, J.D., Crestin, Jessie, and James Lester all of Oneida; 3 half-sisters, Mrs. Connie Terry, Mrs. Winnie Elizabeth Boyatt and Mrs. Menda Ann Williams all of Oneida and a host of friends and relatives. Loved ones who knew him still mourn his passing, but, we feel sure that our loss is his eternal gain in Glory.
