FROM THE NEWS-JOURNAL, CORBIN, 9/21/00

Arthur Baird, 94, H.C. 83, Strunk, passed away Thursday, 
September 14, 2000 at the McCreary County Healthcare Center 
in Pine Knot.

He was the husband of the late Ethel Baird.

Survivors include one son, Hollie Baird of Indianapolis, 
Indiana; one daughter, Norma Lovitt of Strunk; ten grandchildren 
and 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Andrew Baird of Ft. 
Pierce, Florida, Kan Baird of Strunk, and Arlis Baird of 
Manchester; two sisters, Della Curry of Manchester and Dora 
Brown of Clyde, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by Nanny Stephens, Ida Lay, Essie 
Privett; one infant daughter, and his parents, David Baird and 
Cynthia Allen Baird.
      
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Ayers officiating. Burial 
was in the Hayes Creek Cemetery.

Ellison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
